I took this class from Eddie Walker in the TriCities. As soon as I found out I needed 21 different fabrics, I knew I wanted to make something bright and modern! I loved building this fabric rainbow & I really love how cheerful this quilt turned out!
INMOD challenged us to represent our guild's 10th Anniversary using the KONA Color of the Year. I decided to represent all the friends that I have from being in the guild, which I think now add up to way more than 10!
I was looking to make a piece with round blocks. This is paper pieced – look at those tiny pieces. It was a challenge, but I was happy to finish it!

This is a Lone Star BOM completely hand pieced with English Paper Piecing and hand applique.
I English Paper Pieced original butterfly rings and hand appliqued to pieced blocks "Off Kilter" by Hunter's Design Studio. I hand quilted using the big stitch method and Perle cotton thread.
When I was researching for The Missoula Quilters Guild 2020 quilt show, The Roaring 20s, I discovered that Coco Chanel introduced her Little Black Dress in 1926. The show was canceled. So now six years later it is the 100th anniversary of the LBD.
