WSQ is having a seasonal Mug Rug Swap! Each season, we will match you with a different partner to swap mug rugs. If you participate all year, you will meet 4 new quilters and have 4 new mug rugs. If you sign up at the January meeting, you will be paired with a partner in February and have until the April meeting to make your first Spring themed mug rug. After each meeting, we will assign you a new partner and a new season for the theme.

A mug rug is something between a coaster and a placemat. Typically, you can fit your coffee mug and a small snack on it. Think of it as a tiny quilt for your coffee mug or teacup!
8” x 6” is a good size, but feel free to go a little bigger or smaller.
Absolutely not! Hexagons, circles, or any unique shape is fine.
Search the internet for "mug rug" and you will find lots of inspiration and tutorials on how to make a mug rug. You really can't go wrong; it's just a cute little quilt for your mug!
If you can’t make it to the meeting to swap with your partner, you can mail your mug rug. If you only want to swap by mail, we will try our best to match you with another mail-only partner.
