Master Curved Piecing with Jen Wagner

Curious about curved piecing but not sure how to dive in? This class is the perfect place to start! Jen will walk you through everything you need to make curves easier, faster, and more accurate – no stress, just great results. You’ll be using either the Many Moons or Broken Moons quilt pattern (your choice!). Both feature large, gentle curves that are ideal for learning. Bonus: We’ll explore how contrast, color, and fabric choice dramatically change the look of the quilts. Solids give them a sleek, modern vibe, while bold prints in the circles create a totally different feel.
All participants will need to purchase their choice of pattern (Many Moons – $12 OR Broken Moons – $12). Any additional kits or supplies are optional and available for purchase on Jennifer’s website and during the workshop.
Both patterns have two size options. Jen recommends making the larger version as it is easier. Patterns can be purchased on Jennifer’s website or during the workshop.
Before class:
- Order a pattern and supplies at https://www.snapdragonquilting.com/ or purchase in class.
- Starch fabric – Curves require working with bias. Starching fabric before cutting it is
important for reducing distortion. - From a background fabric cut (2) 15¹⁄₂” squares (10¹⁄₂” squares for the smaller size quilt). Cut each square in half diagonally to create (4) large triangles total.
- Bring a 13″ x WOF strip or a fat quarter of (2-3) of the moon fabrics to class.
- Do not cut the curves as we will do this in class.
