Eddie Walker of Walla Walla redesigned this Kaffe Fassett pattern to be made with strips. It was a lot of fun to put together and really packs a visual punch, don't you think? Bonus – every fabric came out of my stash, including the backing.
Piece one block a day for 365 days? Ok. But truly, WHAT WAS I THINKING?? The simplest block was 2 pieces of fabric. But can you find the 6" block that has 185 pieces? I'm really glad I made it because I learned a lot. But never again, LOL!

I saw this kit at a WSQ show a couple of years ago and had to have it. The colors of the kit reminded me of the hot air balloon mass ascensions in the wee hours of the morning at the Albuquerque, NM International Balloon Festival.
This quilt is made using some of my Kaffe Fassett fabric scraps. Funny how the scrap pile never goes down and always seems to multiply.
Inspired by sunset at City of Rocks Idaho. For the INMOD Color of the Year Challenge I constructed a 10 x 10 color grid, challenging myself to play with color and value. Then I added groups of ten fingers from my special campers on that trip.
This quilt captured my attention because of its vibrant colors and the intricate paper-pieced design. I began it after my divorce, spending six months completing the top. It reflects the challenge, focus and healing I found during it's creation.
I joined INMQ about 1 1/2 years ago to learn more about machine quilting. Even though I am intimidated by the experienced quilters I decided to enter this challenge as I learn best by doing and will give it my best shot. Here you have it!
I purchased this quilt kit while on a family vacation in Ohio. My son in law offered to stop at the quilt shop on the way to the airport. I had to add some of my stash to it to make it bigger. Daughter says it is her favorite color, hmmm!
