The center of Annette's Rose is a design by my niece, Tracy. Originally a minature quilt that Annette made and w juried into Road to California Quilt Show. Tracy and I expanded the design to honor Annette who lost her battle with cancer.
Two Bloom Vintage by Moda quilt kits from Shabby Fabrics with a twist. I used their appliques and my Fruits of the Spirit embroidery.

I found the panel at a sewing day with my church group and then took it with me on a shop hop to find the other fabrics. I put it all together and quilted it with variegated thread matching the colors of the quilt.
I purchased this quilt top at an INMQ sale because I was intriqued by the embroidery. We will never know why Mamie never finished her star or how it ended up in Spokane. I enjoyed finishing it for her almost 100 years later.

Our quilt group did a "block a Month" project with Lori Holt's Vintage Farm Girl book. 6 inch and 12 inch blocks …so fun, with the addition of a mix of other blocks I found…..it became a few of my favorite things.
