I changed the outer border which required adding new blocks to the main quilt. I spent many hours redesigning (graph paper) and many, many hours coloring, embroidering, and hand beading the snowflakes. I didn't keep track of my hours but beads (1662)

Aunt Betty passed away before finishing Lincoln's beard, leaving the hoop clamped onto the fabric! I inherited the project and finished embroidering from Lincoln to the end, then pieced and hand-quilted it—just in time for America's 250th.
MANY years ago, traveling to a quilt retreat, I stopped at the Quilting Bee and saw these cute blocks kits. After a failed attempt at machine quilting, I decided I would be happier with a hand quilted quilt.

A friend showed me this pattern and I was hooked. I choose to do crazy chickens with Kaffe colors. It was quilted "as you go" style, and the backing is a fun patchwork with cotton & minky.

We have a Christmas tree farm and this reminded me of its quietness and beauty on a winter evening. I replaced the center block of a house with a replica of our barn and truck.
Basket patterns have fascinated me for years. A picnic with the basket is a perfect combination. No picnic is complete without ants.
The twelve days of Christmas is beloved by our family. We sing the song before Christmas Eve Dinner– each family member sings a different day. It is marvelous!
