My mom passed Nov ‘23. Grief is bizarre. I joined an online quilt challenge by Walla Walla Sew n Vac to get focused. They sent me 2 yards of a surprise fabric and I added 1 yard of my own. It was good to have such brightness in a dark time.

This piece is my interpretation of a gargoyle cusk eel, created for the Cherrywood Abyss Challenge featured in this year’s quilt show. I’m honored that it was selected as one of the 30 semifinalists and included in the online gallery.

Our Inland Modern Quilt Guild (INMOD) is 10 years old! So we challenged ourselves to represent 10 years in the quilt as well as using the Kona Color of the Year.

"Finley" is a reimagined color version of the Elephant Abstractions pattern by Violet Craft. He hangs in my studio opposite my longarm and reminds me that with a little imagination, I can do anything I set my mind to no matter how challenging it is

This quilt honors the old tradition of hanging a basket of flowers on friend or neighbors door on May Day. Since Spokane is the Lilac city, I filled the basket with lilacs.

I had printed a free pattern on the FreeSpirit website many years ago. So many years ago that I can't find the name of it or the designer. I finally got to it and made it! Very fun sewing project and I think the quilting pattern is perfect for it!

This pattern was a free BOM. I love making these blocks as it helps me practice my cutting accuracy and sewing on point with the blocks. I never make anything with suggested fabrics from the pattern designer. I love "switching it up".

More scraps, more scraps, making a quilt!

I wanted to use up some scraps! There is no shortage of colors that I have in my fabric collection.

I wanted to create a series of tasteful nudes. This is my third in the series. The making of a fourth is in the works. I generally work from photos that I take or purchase and download.
