Flaky Friends
I like snowmen so when I saw this pattern I had to make it.
I fell in love with this pattern and fabric choices. I had lots of fun making this quilt. Character names, left to right row 1, Alex and Susie, row 2 Beatrice and Carl, row 3 Emma, Steve and Gloria.
I love stars and I love paper piecing. When I saw this made up at Glacier Quilts in Kalispell, I knew I had to make it.
This was a fun quilt to make and I was happy with the end result. Pics of my quilt were taken off Facebook without permission and used on a couple different sites to promote the pattern. I was not sure if I should be ticked or flattered.
Originally this quilt is very spring colored with a white background. I envisioned a dark background. As I was piecing it, I thought it looked Asian, so I changed the greens to cork to emulate bamboo. The quilting patterns are from Sweet Dreams.
I first saw this pattern from the late Donna Jordan on YouTube. This was a fun pattern to put together. The quilting pattern is an extended width pattern called Vortex from House of Creations. I was really pleased with how this quilt turned out.
Being colorblind this pattern scared me. Then I found the fabric guides from Texas Quilt Barn. These guides were a lifesaver for me! The quilting is from A Bit Orange. This was the most intense quilting that I have ever attempted.

This is my first attempt at free-motion quilting. I watched a video on YouTube called Forget Me Knot. I decided that I wanted to try and quilt along. So I recreated the quilt, embroidery applique, and gave it a go. It was scary and fun.
Horse and Buggy Quilts has always been a favorite of mine. I love the bright colors on black. Reminds me of the Amish Quilts in Ohio.
