Our quilt group did a "block a Month" project with Lori Holt's Vintage Farm Girl book. 6 inch and 12 inch blocks …so fun, with the addition of a mix of other blocks I found…..it became a few of my favorite things.

This was a black of the month that I struggled to finish due to so many blocks each month. It is far from perfect but was definitely a challenge for me. I could barely fit it on my 10 ft long arm frame.
I love bright and happy quilts so when I visited Shabby Fabrics I had to buy the pattern! I used my own bright fabrics and really enjoyed making it!

These quilt squares were embroidered over 100 years ago by Hazel Wright, my husband's grandmother. The note that came with them was dated 1926. The quilt was completed in 2026. Exactly 100 years after the note was written.
This pattern was striking when I saw it at Quilt con 2024, I knew I needed to try it. It uses RSS Geometry fabric and it just feels like being at the lake.
